H.S. UPDATES - For High School meets only:

H.S. Raw Division A (see Raw Div. 3)

H.S. Multi Ply Division C (see Multi Ply Div. 2)

High School lifters are still allowed the option of wearing shorts and a tee in lieu of a lifting suit in Divisions A, B, and C. See USPF Rules, Part 3, for full details.

The F8 Magnum bench bar by F8 Customs can be used for the Bench Press in the Multi Ply Division 2 in accordance with the band shirts.

EQUIPMENT UPDATE:

A 5kg, 10kg, and/or 15kg lifting bar must be available for preteens to use in competition. (The 5kg bar was added.)

Full size “bumper plates” for 2.5kg, 5kg, and 10kg are allowed for deadlifts.  (To allow for proper height in deadlifts.)

Small plastic or aluminum collars (≤ .5kg wt.) may be used with the weight counted as zero.

The USPF has added a Preteen Raw Division for Age Categories 9-10 & 11-12.


Rules for Preteens are in Part 10 of the USPF Rule Book. 


Preteens will not only be able to compete in USPF Meets that offer these Age Categories, they will also have opportunities to make and break USPF & SWP Preteen Records.

USPF Meet Directors duties are limited to only checking USPF Membership Cards to verify Lifters, USPF Referees, and USPF Officials have the required current USPF Membership Cards at a USPF Meet or Event.  

  

The USPF Meet Director is no longer allowed to collect USPF Membership Applications or Membership fees.  USPF Memberships can only be purchased and obtained by the available options online at www.USPFtheLegend.com.  


USPF Membership Applications and Membership Fees that are mailed via USPS must be received before the day of the meet/event.  An email from USPFtheLegend@aol.com will be sent to use as confirmation until he/she receives his/her USPF Membership Card.  


USPF Membership Applications and Membership Fees can be submitted online by the Applicant the day of the USPF Meet, Event, or at weigh-ins.

It is solely the Lifter’s responsibility to obtain and submit the current USPF Record’s Application by filling out the Application and mailing it to the respective USPF Record’s Chair(s).  The Officials' signatures are still required for lift(s) verification.  


USPF Record Applications that have been collected, filled out by, and/or mailed in by a USPF Meet Director, USPF Referee/Official will NOT be accepted. 


The USPF Meet Directors are still required to submit the USPF Meet Results within 14 days from date of the Meet to the USPF National Office and respective USPF Record Chairs.  USPF Meet Results submitted still must contain the names and ranks of the USPF Officiating Referees/Officials as stated in the USPF Rules.

Starting January 1st, 2022, the old USPF logos are officially retired and can no longer be used for any USPF business, events, etc.


The official USPF logo is the black and gold flag with the eagle.  Also used for some items and events is the USPF 3-lifter logo.  


The transition period has ended and ANY use of the old logo for new USPF events, business, etc. will not be approved or recognized by the USPF.

USPF Referees/Officials ~ Reminder of Attire for USPF events:

14. Attire:  Colors are solid black for upper and solid tan for lower.
14.1. No prints or logos except for USPF approved logo shirts.
14.2. No tank tops.  Shoulders must be covered to at least the upper deltoids.  No cutoff sleeves or any other parts of clothing or torn or ripped clothing allowed.
14.3. A current USPF Referee or Official’s badge/ID must be worn with a lanyard or it may be clipped to pocket of shirt or outerwear.

USPF/SWP New Referee Rankings

(SWP ~ Superior World Powerlifting)


  • International/SWP Referee
  • SWP Referee
  • USPF Class I National Referee 
  • USPF Class II National Referee 
  • USPF State Referee


International Referees maintain their titles/ranks from previous world federations and will automatically become a SWP Referee.  SWP Referee is the same rank as International.

 Class II National Referee would maintain the traditional National Referee status.  Class I National Referee would also entail the ability to be an acting SWP Referee at a National meet when necessary. 

 State Referees would maintain the traditional State Referee status.


 Submissions for new rankings would still be sent to the Technical Chair, Vince Moser, for approval.

The Raw Divisions starting in 2021:

Raw KS – Division 3 (knee sleeves only, no knee wraps)

Raw KW – Division 4 (knee wraps must be worn, no knee sleeves) 

Both are Raw Divisions and follow the Rules for Raw.  The difference is the use of knee wraps in Div. 4.  Raw 4 is only available for Full Power & S/L Squat. 


Divisions:

Division 1 – Single Ply

Division 2 – Multi Ply 

Division 3 – Raw KS

Division 4 – Raw KW (Only applies to Full Power & Single Lift Squat events.  Not available for Single Lift Bench, Single Lift Deadlift, or Push/Pull.)
